In July, 2003 BEFORE the ugly beast, otherwise known as childhood cancer,
invaded her life, Alecia recruited her two best friends, Alex and Jessica, and
together they began creating Make Your Mark.Alecia's plan was to raise money in order to help people. This was and surely still
is Alecia's sweet nature- kind, thoughtful, compassionate. She and her friends
wereslowly raising money, continually thinking of fund raisers, and ways to help people,
when tragically cancer entered the picture.Throughout her 9 month ordeal, Alecia stayed strong and optimistic, and dreamed of the day when she would be better and could continue her Make Your Mark organization. Sadly, this was not to be. Now, Alecia's mom and her best friends will continue Alecia's beautiful dream, while she manages from heaven.
Alecia made her mark on this world in the beautiful, but far too short, 12 years that she was here. She deeply touched the lives of many people with her courage, and her fun-loving, caring, gentle nature- even in the face of adversity. Alecia will continue to make her mark by inspiring others with her dream.
